BRUTAL

It was brutally obvious that we were outplayed,

Brutally painful to see Markov go down,

Brutally ungentlemanlike for the Flyers' fans to sing Olé-Olé,

Brutally important to note that Pronger is NOT finished,

Brutally cowardly for Hab fans to boo at the end of game four.

But what a season!

Dec 3rd 2009: 100 years, Cournoyer, Lafleur, Dryden, Roy

What a show!

Making the playoffs... by a thread

Washington in 7: Ovi out

Penguins in 7: Sid the kid out

We hung in tough: The rookies learned how to win

See ya next year

Is Hartnell Youppi's long lost son?

No, no.......There is NO relation between Scott Hartnell and Youppi.....
And No, that dinosaur Pronger does NOT use a walker to get to his hotel after the game....
And No, the Broad Street Bullies have NOT changed their name to the Broad Street CryBabies....
It is only one game BUT I LOVED IT!!!!
The plumbers came to work; Lapierre, Moore, Moen. No leaky faucets here.
Cammie started us off and we never looked back. Halak.........
Getting back to Pronger: I thought Hockey Canada made a mistake picking him for the Olympics. But during the Olympics and during the first two games he was more than up for the task. Yesterday his legs were not there. We must keep pressuring him. It is key.
AND we need the refs to stop giving him free gifts of elbows and cross-checks to opponents...
It was great to be at this one; the building was electric. Saturday, we need more of the same.

Price or Halak?

Should we take the chance with Price?

Is Halak tired?

Does Martin have any guts?

Do the Habs need to be shaken up?

I feel that a bigger goalie might help us in this series.

Price can cover more of the net; pucks will hit him

He might do some pushing around in the crease as well

2-0 Flyers

Today I have mixed feelings.

Part of me wants to complain....

Complain of Martin being out-coached

Complain about Halak's lack of preparation

Complain about how Gomez, Gionta, and Cammie already have their flipflops on

But this team beat Washington

This team beat Pittsburgh

We have seen that Lapierre and Plekie can, on occasion,

remove their ballerina outfits and play hard

We have seen that Bergeron can, on occasion,

break out of his own zone

We have seen that Subban can play like a veteran

We have seen Alex K hit and hit hard

This is the playoffs

It will not come easy

The Flyers play 4 D only: HIT THEM!

Briere and Gagne are killing us: SHADOW THEM!

The tide will turn with one goal

The first one...

What do you do when you face the impossible?

When your gut is wrenching, how do you overcome?

If you are down and out, how do you look up?

YOU LOOK FOR INSPIRATION!

Inspiration comes in many forms.

The smiling bus driver.

The unexpected act of kindness.

A child learning anything new.

A smile after surgery.

HALAK!

The Habs are lifting up a people.

I BELIEVE.

And as President Obama eloquently said, 'Yes we can'

New members of the Pro-Am Golf Tour!

Who would have thought that these two would be out of playoffs AND be eliminated by the Habs?

Picking A Fight

If you think that the competition is terrible, SAY SO. When you do, you will find that others who agree with you will rally to your side. Being Anti-Orthésiste is a great way to differentiate yourself and attract followers.

Our training as podiatrists is exemplary. WE KNOW THE FOOT BEST. Les orthésistes have 40 hours training at best in the foot: WE HAVE MORE THAN 4000. They go to CEGEP: WE GO TO UNIVERSITY. They are part of nebulous associations: WE ARE PART OF A PROFESSIONAL ORDER THAT PROTECTS THE PUBLIC BY LAW.

So forget that we are facing big marketing machines that sell orthotics, shoes and a multitude of odds and ends. There are no replacements for a good podiatric biomechanical exam and no replacement for a complete podiatric orthotic prescription. Choose to use orthotic laboratories that cater to podiatrists ONLY. These 3 principles are OURS. We have earned them through the years. They are important and must be embraced.

WE TREAT PEOPLE. We take care of their feet. Podiatrists are the best qualified to do so by far. Be proud of it and never miss an opportunity to share this pride with your patients and the people around you. AND IF YOU CAN, yell it from the highest building. Do not be afraid to pick a fight......

There is very little heel contact in stance phase..he is using the pose method http://www.posetech.com/

When we consider orthotics, should we correct a toe runner differently than a heel-toe runner? Is the neutral position even a consideration?

reebok easy tone

Reebok claims that their new shoes increase muscle activity when you walk with them; calf and gluts. They claim a 10 to 25 % change. They claim that this tones your muscle, creates more definition and burns more calories........

I have my doubts.

Firstly, human locomotion has a complex series of muscle contraction and relaxation phases that are perfectly timed. A muscle working when it is not programmed to can lead to injury. Furthermore, biomechanical analysis is used on patients who are in pain or injured to determine exactly which muscle is firing out of sequence or for too long!!!!

Secondly, the muscles mentioned would become more toned only by going through the entire range of motion which is not the case in locomotion.

You decide....
